  • How much does a cake cost?
    Choose a cake flavour from our selection, pick the size and you'll see the starting price for the simple looking cake. Special decoration is a subject of an extra cost
  • Where do I collect from?
    You can collect your order from Featherston, 11 Daniell Street at the arranged time.
  • Do you deliver?
    We can deliver wedding cakes Wairarapa wide. Please, let us know the address when you send the request and we'll give you a quite for delivery service
  • Do you make fondant and novelty cakes?
    No, we specialise in buttercream cakes, we do not cover our cakes with fondant (except textured contemporary style). We also do not make shaped characters cakes and figurines
  • How to store a cake?
    A cake can be at room temperature for up to 4 hours. It becomes nice and tender and ready for consumption after 1-2 hours at room temperature. All our cakes must be refrigerated overnight. You can keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Do you cater to any dietary requirements?
    We can make cakes using gluten-free flour or non-dairy products, vegan cakes (can not be gluten-free at the same time). However, they will contain traces of those allergens. All our cakes also may contain traces of nuts and other allergens so they're not suitable for severe allergies.
    If there're a few guests with dietary requirements, we always can make a small separate cake and deliver it with your wedding cake Wairarapa wide.

  • Can I choose 2-3 flavours for my wedding cake?
    Yes, you can. We can make a wedding cake with different flavour for each tier. Will it cost extra? No.
  • Do you provide stands and cake serving utensils?
    We have different stands suitable for smaller cakes we can rent out. Large wedding cakes look good on their own standing on a wine barrel (common option at venues) or a special table.
    We have a couple options of knife-server sets for rent as well as cupcake stands and high-tea plates. Please request if you need anything to go with your order.

Hello, my name is Daria and I am that human behind the Lab.

I'm experienced baker, commis chef and a cake artist. I've always been into creating something special out of simple things. Along with my passion for food, it inspired me to start CakeLabNZ in 2018.

Perfectionism is a big part of my work, it's important when you offer a product to people - to make it perfect inside and outside. This is why I prefer to make all fillings and decorations from scratch, use high quality and natural ingredients.

We're open to the public!
We try to have a very limited range of our single portion sized cakes for sale every week.
It can be either honey cake, lemon meringue tarts, tiramisu, macarons, mousse cakes o other goods.
Watch for our OPEN flag outside of 11 Daniell Street.
